Not all professionals can afford tuition
The University of Phoenix prides itself on being a school for working professionals; however, not all working professionals can afford the high cost of the university's tuition, which is why the school offers financial aid.
Phoenix offers numerous financial aid options
University of Phoenix financial aid options are numerous. These options include federal loans, private loans and U.S. Armed Forces Tuition Assistance. In addition, for those working professionals who can afford the tuition, the University offers students the ability to pay for one class at a time, rather than paying for an entire semester in advance. This helps students manage their finances easier, especially those students who receive tuition reimbursement from their employers. In fact, more than half of the University's students receive some form of reimbursement from their employer. If you're a working professional considering attending University of Phoenix you should check with your employer to see if they offer this sort of program.
Standard federal loans are available
When it comes to federal financial aid at University of Phoenix, they offer the same variety of assistance as any other standard four year educational institution in the country—Federal Stafford Loans, PLUS Loans, Perkins Loans, and Pell Grants. The same condition for obtaining these loans applies; students must be enrolled in classes at least part time.
Private loan options are many
University of Phoenix also offers a variety of private loans from lenders. All of which are based on a healthy credit score and vary in interest rates and repayment terms; however, they don't come with many of the restrictions that federal aid does.
Armed Forces Assistance provides a financial cushion
Armed Forces Tuition Assistance is also a nice option; however, it will not be enough to cover the tuition of a full year of classes. It only provides ex-military personnel up to $4,500 in aid per year, which can be beneficial to the total amount of student loans taken out.
