Who is eligible?

To be eligible for an undergraduate student loan you must be enrolled or planning to enroll full time or part time in an undergraduate school program. The undergraduate school program that you are enrolled or planning to be enrolled in must approved school by your lender. Your lender will have certain schools that it approves and certain schools that it doesn't approve. Also, to get approved for an undergraduate student loan your academic progress must be at least satisfactory.

Is a Co-Signer Required for this Loan?

There are some circumstances on a student loan that you will require a co-signer. A co-signer is simply another person to sign the loan contract with that may have a better credit status than you do. If you are a student with a sound credit history and you pass the credit screening you most likely will not need a co-signer unless you are below the age of maturity. If you do need to have a co-signer there are some requirements. Your co-signer must be a United States citizen or permanent resident, he must have an address within the United States if America, your co-signer must also have a valid social security number. If you are a student from another country you need to be at least 18 years old for an undergraduate student loan and you must have a co-signer that meets the requirements listed above.

What is the Maximum that I can Borrow?

The most money you can borrow on a loan is the education cost that is not already covered by financial aid. When you submit the amount you want to borrow, your lender will verify with your school that it is an accurate amount. Due to this method of verification you may get less than you asked for.
